Buggyra Academy implements several new classrooms each year aimed at developing young talents in a specific branch of motorsport. In previous years we have done the Dakar and GT Classroom.

GT classroom

Martin Koloc, Buggyra Racing CEO and former European Truck Champion, wanted to give young drivers, aspiring to have a professional career in endurance racing, a training field that gets them ready to compete on track.

The trainees of the Buggyra Academy program have a real target: the possibility to test in the field what they have learned from the coaches of the Academy. This year’s program started at the 12h of Spa-Francorchamps in May where the trainees had their first taste of experiencing a race first hand behind the scenes.

The 2024 participants:

Yasmeen Koloc

Jakub Hadaščok

Matěj Hadaščok

Our team:

David Vrsecky (driving/telemetry), Pavel Knittel (team management), Jan Kalivoda & Alexandra Schieren (media and PR)

The program:

April – August 2023: Simulator training
July – August 2023: KZ Karting together with Buggyra Racing
July – October 2023: Training in Most (10 training sessions)
November 2023 – March 2024: GT4 v DXB in some minor UAE races plus testing
End of March 2024: First race in the 24h Series at Mugello

The program can only be entered on merit and future trainees will be selected by our experienced team of talent scouts.

Dakar classroom

The Dakar Classroom was born out of an idea by Buggyra Racing CEO and former European Truck Champion, Martin Koloc. In fact, he wanted to give the trainees of the Buggyra Academy program a real target, a possibility to test in the field what they have learned from the coaches of the Academy. So, some of the Academy racers were given the opportunity to participate in the 2023 Dakar Rally, in a T3 Can-Am or behind the scenes to experience the management of a Dakar race team.

The idea behind the project

The project was initiated by BUGGYRA ACADEMY in reflection of the essential need of developing rally raid pilots, co-pilots, and team personnel in the real environment. The Dakar as the toughest rally raid race in the world offers an extremely unique personal development platform. Dakar veterans unanimously say that “you can get prepared for the Dakar only on the Dakar”. Therefore BUGGYRA ACADEMY took this idea forward toward the first test of a new educational program called the 2023 DAKAR CLASSROOM.

The Dakar environment exposes its participants to tremendous physical and emotional stress for an extensive period of three weeks where each person has to perform their tasks with potential sleep deprivation, neglected nutrition, and compromised hygienic routines. The Dakar doesn’t offer free individual time to rest or enjoy privacy. Human communication and all relations are subjected to this environment and can easily become very tense.

Any make-believe or acting will steadily vanish with each new day clocking the time and everyone potentially becomes the purest form of themselves. The uniqueness of this harsh and demanding environment offers a very unique way to develop a deep personal self-understanding.

The DAKAR SPIRIT creates real friends for life!

The 2024 participants:

Jakub Hadaščok

Aliyyah Koloc

Téo Calvet

Aliyyah Koloc, the only youngster of the Academy to start the 2023 Dakar Rally, finished the grueling event in 33rd of her T3 category, an excellent result for a newcomer. She was fast and consistent, sometimes beating bigger names in the stages and gaining the praise of experienced drivers, like Nasser Al-Attiyah, experienced rally driver and winner of the Dakar Rally.

The other participants Téo Calvet, Mohamed Ali Ahmed and Arnaud Aranthabe benefitted from a unique and detailed look behind the scenes, following the team members for the two weeks of the event, to see and learn for themselves what the Dakar Rally is all about.

The 2024 edition is already in preparation with the final selections for drivers and other trainees currently underway.

The program can only be entered on merit and future trainees will be selected by our experienced team of talent scouts.
